Robot Chicken

February 21st, 2005

The verdict on Seth Green’s latest project, Robot Chicken: Two robo-thumbs up! Robot Chicken is about ten minutes of non-stop pop culture satire told with toys in stop-motion animation with some computer effects (mouth and eyes). I think.

I don’t know if the quality of the show can be sustained over any period of time, but it has definitely earned its chance.

And if you happened to be watching, you may have seen Clunky Robot in his brand-new Sealab 2021 commercial!

Damn, forgot to watch it! Was it the premiere last night or the second episode?

  2. LTR Says:

It was the first episode last night. I’m sure it’ll be on again.

Yeah, I caught Robot Chicken as well last night (who could have guessed I’d ever write that phrase?). It was good, sure — especially Optimus Prime telling me about prostate cancer. I guess it’s beasically an attempt to show the sort of fun stuff we all find on the web every day… not sure if we need a whole show dedicated to it… maybe just little bits sprinkled between the other Adult Swim shows would be better.

You know, that’s a great idea, Isaac. It’s great programming for Adult Swim but not really enough to carry a whole show. Back in the old days (2001) they used to run little cartoons that were 1-5 minutes long as filler. I’d love to see them do that again.

And I agree–the Optimus Prime bit was definitely the best part of Robot Chicken!
