What’s the Deal With…?

May 27th, 2005

Should we just rename ESPN the Yankees-Red Sox Channel? I know a lot of people watch this rivalry. Heck, it gets my blood boiling. But I’m an old man with a bad heart, so that’s not a good thing. I can only hear Rick Sutcliffe talk about Tim Wakefield’s knuckleball so much before I explode. Please, let’s get some hot Royals-Mariners action or something.

Thank you for listening.

Watching the Yank-Red Sox game is bad enough, but watching it w/ Sutcliffe doing the broadcast is pure hell. He’s a part-timer for Padres broadcasts out here and has to be one of the worst at the job, and I hear some pretty bad ones with my MLB cable package.

I think there should be Congressional hearings followed by a new Federal law that says announcers are only allowed to talk about the knuckleball for the first five minutes of the broadcast. It flutters, we get it! Let’s move on!
